Singapore inflation is low at average 3%. But maybe in Batam is 8%. (give it the worst scenario). Therefore for 12 years, batam's inflation should be 8 x 12 = 96% (approximately 100%)

This figure suggests that it should be about 100% increased in price for the cost of booking cewek which is 150k + 150k = 300k rupiah maximum taken into account the inflation of 8% for 12 years period.

But booking joints are now charging 500k-600k instead which does not match the inflation at all.

These joints in batam take advantages of the strong demand of cewek by singaporean/malaysian to push up their prices.
Bro, U can't calculate this way lah. 12 years agao the exchange rate is like maybe SGD1 - IDR 4000-5000. And 12 year ago the booking rate should be around 220K. So per night booking around SGD50. Cheapest I remember is around SGD30 per night when the rupiah is weakening but not yet crisis period, the prices not not soar up yet. Now per night if 600K, is ard SGD85 per night, it is like 70% increase over the years. But you must remember not only inflation, the min wage in batam also increased alot over the years. Now it is over 1 million, compared to 200K more than 10 years ago. Prices in Batam also have to be high, coz alot of things they use all import from Singapore and Malaysia, Fruits, foodstuff, materials, semi and finished products. You can see most houses and cars they buy and sell tag to SGD dollar. Even some of the ladies' clothes, the shop owners come Singapore or Malaysia and buy then sell in Batam, how not to be expensive?
