Prices will always go up no matter what.
i realised there was a cover charge for funky villa recently but i didn't pay it, just said i'm going to get a bottle of whiskey.
anyway not a big fan of funky villa, it's just too bloody crowded and some of the kids are downright rude after a few glasses too much.
Prefer to head down to those beer garden like tawandaeng at rama 3 or ram intra. Some of my friends like the Beer issan places at Phattanakarn which plays mostly folk songs. The atmosphere is pretty good with none of the pretentious shit you get at funky, and easy on the pocket as well. Every seems to be genuinely having fun.
