yes no prob. best bank to open is ICBC. so open the account in the province. cos if same bank different province withdrawal there is a surcharge of 1rrmb per 100rmb. when opening, use the hotel address as your address.
dun think they need 5000 rmb to open. when i open mine in 2010. it only requires 100rmb in account. not sure whether the rule change or not.
all banks will provide the sms service. normally the 1st month is free. after that is either 5rmb or 10rmb per month
