flying to sz is the best but agreed timing sucks ... especially tigerairway which i don like to take ... thus only silkair but they do not have daily flight ... only available on mon, thurs, fri and sun ....
another alternative is GZ ... traveling time on land transport from GZ to CP is abt 1.5hr to 2hrs but at least u do not have to go through 2 borders which can caused long delays ... and fare is 500-600 rmb from GZ to CP on charter MPV ...

actually taikor ... it's not the time we have to leave cp to the airport that matter ... but the time needed to travel and set aside to ensure one reached the airport on time ...
e.g. for 3-4pm flight in HKIA, one need to leave at 10am or 11am ... that's 4 to 5 hrs advance and assuming everything is normal at both borders as not to arrive late at the airport ... if travel to SZ airport, u only need to set aside 1hr traveling time before check-in time at airport ... there's no worries abt crossing borders ....
but advantage flying to HK is more options on flight schedules ...
