If you happen to be in the Huai Khwang area, you can take the MRT and exit from the Phetchaburi station. A short 5-minute walk will take you to Makkasan train station where you can catch a local train or airport link to the airport.

Depends on how long you need to wait at Makkasan, you might be soaking wet by the time you get on the train. I usually clean up and put on a fresh shirt at the airport before getting on the plane
