it may be a well worn cliche but i do agree that absolute power corrupts absolutely. Power + time = interest group. Powerful fathers may not pass down their brains to their kids but they sure try to secure a life of abundance for them. So more resources will be allocated in the name of meritocracy...upward mobility is nothing more than a poster boy strategy to comfort the poor folks.
why estate duty was abolished just shortly before the richest of the rich in sg died? oh, the minister said HK was 'going' to do it..so we should do it too...i suspect these people went to the same school as George W Bush. the duty from the Ng. Lee and Khoo could build more hospitals for a 6.9 mil population.
