Not all KTVs allow the freedom to pick and leave. My friend has done so at some KTVs like Lihao.
But the problem is the KTVs that allow you to pick and leave are those that are cheaper to party in.
Again the problem is not in the cost of the KTV which is still manageable if you are disciplined (Last month partied with 3 other bros, and every night spend <300RMB on KTV cost), but the arbitrary nature of they pricing the gals rather than letting the free market decide on the cost.
