Not the same lah. I think your Uncle is talking about the old SDU. Back in the 80s, the PAP tried to experiment with eugenics. They wanted uni grads to marry unit grads and set up the SDU to arrange matchmaking and dates. One of the things that the SDU did was to arrange cruises for single uni grads and subsidize the cruises so they can go on them and fuck and fall in love. But end up a lot of boyfriend and girlfriend just claim to be single and went on the almost free cruise together.
