$1k is more than enough. If you're not planning to chiong every night you can lower your budget. I'm also heading there around Feb/Mar after CNY. My budget is also $1k for roughly 5-6 nights. For me I plan to chiong every night and I've been to most of the places liao. For me I prefer street food so $30-$40 per days is fine for me.
