Cab drivers in Geylang

wondering if fellow bros have the same issues with some ( most) cab drivers driving along geylang area?

1. Put out hand to stop they dont
2. Sometimes roll down and ask where you going and then say 'oh sorry lah not going there' very sorry eh sorry bye
3. Sometimes as soon as they see a hand put up they turn on busy or on call sign and drive off
4. When confronted they wave their hands at us and sometimes say sorry cannot peak hour lah

I think this is a effort by the cab companies to make more money from ordinary folks by charging us booking fees and extra both.

Last week I saw a PRC couple standing outside lor 10 for cab we had gone walking towards that side also looking for one and the woman was preggers somemore, they were waving cab after cab and no one stopped for them and we walked lil further the whole sidelane were people waiting for a cab to stop...its getting worse day by day somebody got to do something about these arrogant cab drivers man..just ridiculous

No point doing that cos from what I know is that the taxi associations have agreement with the cab companies n LTA to allow cabbies discretion whether to pick up fares in geylang area. This is becos of the high number of taxi uncles kenna robbed by fares they picked up in geylang. Police report statistics show that 7 out of every 10 taxi robberies were committed by fares who boarded the cabs in geylang.

So they will not entertain any complaints about cabbies from geylang area.

So far no issues for me with the cabbies. I usually walk a bit away to the clean areas to catch a cab. Just 5 more minutes of walk lo. At least less questions n dirty look from the driver hehe

Last Sat, I was walking fr Lor 27A to Lor 3 and didn't see any of yr mentioned `action' by cab driver. I wanna save $ so walk to Lor 3 as PIE is along that way and both my friend n I got a cab fast.
