Cops raid gay fitness centre in Penang

GEORGE TOWN: Police have raided a gay fitness centre where patrons are required to flash their private parts before being allowed into the premises in Pulau Tikus here.

The place was only known through word of mouth. Only those who know to flash their private parts are allowed in, while others are turned away.

Two men, in their 30s, were caught in a compromising position when the a police team stormed into the unlicensed premises, which had been raided at least 15 times over the past few years.

Also seized were a laptop, a pornographic VCD, two bottles of lubricant, a bottle of mouthwash and a towel during the 4.30pm raid Thursday.

George Town OCPD Asst Comm Gan Kong Meng said the case would be investigated under Section 377 (B) of the Penal Code for committing carnal intercourse.

"We will write to the Penang Municipal Council to seal the premises. We will also advise the council to have the premises' water and electricity supply cut off.
