Well, should be, the bubble is broken this morning when I wake up. Anyway, I went to see doctor today at DSC at 1pm. I told told all they need to know and did two test, culture test for Herpes($20) and blood test for Syphilis($6) as they said the symptoms for both are quite similar. The blood test only take one week to know the result but the culture one takes 3 weeks so now is wait and see time. They also give me a cream to apply on the broken skin, it's an antibiotic cream. Hope it helps...

Nice thread man, been looking for ppl who have this problem, mine is not yet tested but from the doctor advise, its herpes....

Actually there is always a risk to contract herpes as long as u are active in sex. Commercial sex might carry a higer risk..but...there are still ppl who got it thru non-commercial. Problem is herpes can be tramsmitted easily via skin-skin contact and many ppl who has it do not know. So b4 marriage, its gd to have a full std test. Knowing having herpes will at least help you to prevent transmitting to ur wife/husband. Its more common for ppl to transmit when they themselve are even not aware that they already have this virus.

i have these very itchy feeling in my inner thighs and when i scratch it it will become swollen leh...and it's like outbreak into rashes...and when it heals it scars my inner thighs....may i ask if it's herpes and if it's not...anyone got any medication to get rid of the scars in my inner thighs???

If u suspect..then go for blood test. No one can..even doector...give u a answer via the forum. C a doc if it bother u. It might be just a normal rash.

Dear SB members,

guys there are many treatment available for HSV 1 & 2. Help and counselling groups are also available should you need to deal with the stress and traumatic experience. First of all, you should visit your doctor to get professional help. The rest of things I write here is to help you understand your problem more so you could face and prepare for it better to assume your normal life. Life does not end here when you get HSV1 or 2.

basic treatment should start asap when blisters appear or rashes develop. A 5g Zovirax cream will help you and works best if applied asap.. do not go for generic type.. found to be less effective.. This cream is anti virus, not antibiotic/antiseptic.

alternatively if you can afford it, take Valtrex. It's expensive drug but works best to date, if you have a bad infection(diff people had diff no of outbreaks and seriouness of outbreaks), you might have to take the suppresive theraphy by taking 250mg of valtrex twice a day for 365 days at least. Those with 9 outbreaks and above will need this theraphy. Results shown that suppresive theraphy successfully reduce no outbreaks to about 40%.

Important!!! Valtrex does NOT cure you, it helps you suppress the virus in you and preventing an outbreak thus minimizing the risk of you infecting your partner and also to ease your pain and suffering during the outbreak. Valtrex also helps in your healing prcess who usually starts after day 3 of outbreak.
For more info, you need to consult your family doctor, do a blood test and read more about it at www.valtrex.com . Reason I recommend Valtrex instead of Choraphor, it's because Valtrex comes from reputable manufacturer (GSK) & approved by FDA. Please do not buy Valtrex from un known sources as there are many imitations around due to the high price of Valtrex. For your info, a box of ten will cost as much as your Viagra, and that will last you 1 treatment for 1 outbreak.

HSV 1 & 2 can be transmitted through contact, secretion fluid, sex, kissing and blood transfusion. It can infect another person when the virus is active, and important pount is it can be active even without symptoms. The virus stays in your body and hide or becomes "dormant" until the next outbreak. Otherwise these virus can be easily taken care of by normal antibiotics. Because it's hiding, that's why the HSV1 & 2 cannot be cleaned completely from your system, thus "incurable". There are few things to take note for herpes sufferers,some of the things that can contribute to an outbreak:

1) Sun burn..forget about tanning yourself at the beach!
2) stress..
3) fatigue, lack of sleep... becareful when you have jet lag.
4) some say radish .. but no concrete evidence of the link to radish.
5) take a note on the dates and months of your outbreaks, note if there's any particular patterns, some people have a quite regular pattern (i.e months of Feb, July, nov outbreak every year!) so therefore it helps you to expect the unexpected.

Last but not least... the most important task after seeking help from your doctor... TALK TO YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS. Those who have wife, please, she deserves to know and does not deserve to be infected. Herpes HSV 1 & 2 are NOT life threathening, and healthy sufferers of HSV1 & 2 can give birth to healthy babies free from herpes. Do not lose hope..

Well, I'm a walking wounded today after getting my result from DSC clinic. Confirmed, I got Herpes type 2. Although I was expecting it but getting the confirmation does really dampen the mood for the day. I have been good for the past three weeks, never eat outside nor DIY. Maybe I can break the habit after learning this lesson. Finally, just wanna find out any bros here still active even though they got herpes? Is it selfish knowing that you got STD but dun keep it contain to yourself?

Any chance of contracting this virus if lying down on a massage bed ? Even if one has shorts on ? I m wondering if any STDs can survive the open air for long ?
