If only it was that simple that one sentence is enough to explain it away and asking voters to bite the bullet.

I did not know outside Singapore, the other countries have COE, ERP, GST on basic necessities, high petrol tax, high legal costs, high medical cost, world highest senior civil servants and ministers salaries etc. Maybe they have but their middle-class average salaries are also much higher.

Since every country tax structure and cost of living are different, then we cannot blame it on the world behaviour. It also means Singapore itself can do something about cost of living but not doing it well.

It was only one Thread among the million of Threads with limited time impact of 2 weeks and I did not know it has any impact. People can choose to skip the Thread. It was for election discussion.
