I live besides Roppongi, but i will pass. A complete waste of time, to be honest. I've visited Japan a few times, never looking to hook up but did manage to get lucky with locals twice

First time was about 8-9 years ago. I was backpacking through the Kansai region and was staying at a cheap hostel in Kyoto. I had rented one of their bikes and spent most of the day biking around the city. Now, i am not so sure about the introduction part. The japs are very cautious about introducing gaijins into their circles. (out of work, of course). On the few occasions where i had been introduced, they just shut you out with their in-group dynamics. The girls, i won't go into detail, but let's just say they are far from keen on being with an Asian.

One thing i have been told by a Japanese American female colleague is that they feel it is "filthy" to be with someone of a lower standing (South east Asian or other parts of Asia).
