yo any bros recommend any other places to retire?i have bros who have went to Jakarta, Chiangmai, Bali, Java and Philipines They retire early compare to us Singapore. As cost of living there is cheap. I am also considering a good place. I have 2 properties fully paid hence i can earn from the rent and stay at places comfortable.

Any insights?

Why don't you visit the bros who have retired in Jakarta, Chiangmai, Bali, Java and the Philippines and decide for yourself which place suits you best.

I'm currently living in Australia and I love the place. However, I know many Singaporeans who emigrated to OZ and went back after 6 months because they hated the culture.

What boss said is true. You should visit these places and stay at least for a while to see if you can really survive there or not. I am also thinking of retiring overseas as Singapore had really become too expensive.

I have been doing the following :

1) Do as much research as you can about the place you are interested in.
2) Since you have someone staying there already , pay them a visit
3) find out how much it will cost you if you want to stay there : housing , food, transport , night life entertainment and so on
4) learn their culture and their language
5) Most importantly do not be a carrot head to others in a foreign land.
