In the spirit of ignoring the Scums who always make themselves look juvenile and immature here without any outside help, I will pen my thoughts on how the team has done in our *Liverpool* thread.

*Positives of the season*
Points, goals and title challenge in the league
Double over Chelshit and thrashing of the Scum
Thrashing of Real Madrid
Away wins
Late goals and wins
Stevie G - need I say more? Yes, Sports' Writer Player of the Season

Alonso - need I say anything about this masterclass? Red cards against him

Yossi Benayoun
Carra - watch out Arbeloa!
Rafa realisiing we need to challenge for the title
New contracts for Rafa, Stevie, Kuyt
Bye bye Parry

*Negatives*
Injuries and short of cover for Torres
Robbie Keane - nothing more needs to be said
Ryan Babel - step down from last season
Home draws
More rumours about the club and more infighting (maybe not the right word!)
The new stadium still has not gone forward

*Question marks*
Need cover for Torres
Need another winger or attacking midfelder
Need depth in general (or the kids need to step up)
Stability in the club (or should I actually ask for a coup to throw out the Yanks??)

Thoughts anyone? I am looking forward to the off-season - for the signings and also who else is going to watch Pool?

At this moment, I just looking forward to Liverpool coming over to Spore...

At this point of time, Rafa have already proved that he is the man to bring us the title, so I have complete faith in what he is going to do during the summer so lets just relax and let Rafa do the dirty work..

TICKETS for Liverpool Football Club's exhibition match here in July against the Singapore national team will go on sale this Friday.
About 30,000 gallery tickets - priced at S$88 each - are available for the match. Grandstand tickets will cost S$188.

Tickets will be sold at about 58 different locations islandwide, including all Adidas, Courts and Harry's Bar outlets. Each fan can only buy a maximum of four tickets.

The English Premier League club is headed here as part of their two-stop tour of South-east Asia, which includes Thailand on July 22.

Organisers have promised that the entire first-team squad, including superstars like Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres, will be in Singapore for the match, barring injuries.

....... many thousands of schoolboy fans gonna be disappointed

............. Maybe the organisers can give special price for students ?

basically we have a quite a strong base in reina, carragher, agger, skrtel, alonso, mascherano, gerrard, benayoun and torres. however if i were rafa i would personally do this. as it was mentioned the yanks will provide 30mill transfer war chest for the summer and another 15mill which came from robbie keane's sale.

i would try to sign the following players
carlos tevez ( seems destined to leave man yoo and he has said he would like to stay in england. i think he's world class and he would be a valuable asset for us.) might cost 30mill

gareth barry ( imagine how our midfield will be with him would be a great back up, however we shld only try to get him for less than 10mill due to his time left on his contract)

glenn johnson (he's young, and he's going to be better than arbeloa. might cost around 10mill )

David Silva / Aaron Lennon ( silva is the playmaker for spain and imagine gerrard, silva, torres they can wreck any defence apart.might cost around 15mill due to valencia having huge amount of debts. alternatively, our other option can be aaron lennon. he's quick and has good technical abilities provides another attacking dimension for us. might cost 10-15mill ).

players going out
Babel ( showed some glimpsed of brilliance however he is using too much time)

Lucas ( with barry arriving lucas wont have any chance to play at all, and i dont think lucas will improve much as a player)

voronin (he's doing well in germany and certainly going to leave for a decent transfer fee)

pennant ( definitely leaving.)

degen ( too injury prone)

hobbs ( has already gone in reality)

Itandje ( for sure)

Leto ( not impressing)

there are at the moment i can think of.
however players that rafa most likely would sign are

Gareth Barry 8-10mill ( certainly leaving villa as o neill said without champions league qualification it would be impossible to retain him. liverpool are the favourites to sign him)

Danijel Pranjić (left croatian winger who scored 20 goals in 30 games for heerenveen this season 8mill)

Álvaro Negredo (scored 19 goals for almeria this season which he himself said is interested to move to liverpool with a possibility of playing alongside torres might cost 10mill)

David Silva ( benitez's long time target and i reckon this time he will be bidding for this guy again.)

many reports have claimed that liverpool had joined the race to sign tevez. Rafael Benitez's position would be strengthened by the fact that it is not Manchester United that would be dealt with in negotiating a deal for Tevez.The Argentinean's economic rights are held by various companies, headed by Kia Joorabchian. It is understood Tevez would cost in the region of £22m.
These latest reports are likely to heighten tensions between the two title chasing rivals even further.

Maybe we could organise to go watch the game together?? IMO, $88 is bit of expensive but who cares, they dun come to singapore often
