Reputation System Questions:

Bottomline -
1) When a reputation score of 100 [wef 3 Jul 24] is reached, reputation power becomes 1.
So beg other Bros to up you and promise to up them back once you have power. Very, very important to observe this.

2) A min of 10 posts is required to gain your 1st rep power.

After that,
When you see a person's posting from the last 2 days, on the top right hand corner, you will see a weighing scale. Just click on the scale and, when a window opens, select approve and write any comments, eg "Hi, bro??? has just upped you with xx points"
That way, the recipient will know who upped him.

To find a person, click on search on the tool bar at the top and select advanced search.
Type in the name of the person you are searching for.
Then it will list all the recent posts by that person you were searching for.

Very critical - don't up anyone until u et yr 1st rep power, othwerise the other part gets zero.

The system is there for the fun of it. Points are worthless. They can't be redeemed for anything. Whether you are 1000 points or -999 makes absolutely no difference to your career, your relationships with your family and friends and your sexual prowess. Just treat the reputation points thing as a cyberspace computer game for that is exactly what it is.

PURPOSE

However, it brings an additional level of interactivity into the forum which most people enjoy using. If they didn't, there wouldn't be more than 1000 votes cast on a daily basis.
